I am LaTonya McCurry, the CEO of LaTonya McCurry Counseling Services, LLC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience assisting those with behavioral health challenges. I have received recognition from community service providers for participating in many events promoting health and wellness. I am a current member of the American Counseling Association and National Board of Certified Counselors.
My expertise includes counseling families, adults, and adolescents. I have received certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Therapy – Recovery Model for Psychosis. My approach is integrative, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic and Existential Approaches in the context of the systems the patient exists. With the help and support provided through the therapeutic alliance, my clients able to process their feelings, challenge their negative thoughts and engage in more helpful behaviors that allow them to experience a life more aligned with their goals.
My commitment and passion to help others is evidenced by my dedication to serve those who experience challenges which would otherwise be a barrier to achieving a quality of life. I find enjoyment in spending time with family, traveling and creative projects.
Shanada, an experienced Master’s Level Therapist. She has worked in community mental health and is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Shanada believes that therapy should be a safe and transforming atmosphere to nurture change and growth. She utilizes various therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness/Grounding from a Person-Centered perspective to help clients feel supported and restore hope that things can get better. She employs her background in Journalism to help client in tell and feel in control of their own stories. Through the lens of storytelling clients realize their diagnosis is only one part of the story. During the therapeutic process, Shanada believes in exploring and honoring all parts, patterns, and coping skills that carried clients to this point in their lives, without shame or judgment.
Jade Hazelwood is the administrative support and gentle, empathetic voice that assists prospective clients through the intake process. She also communicates with referral sources and executes other vital tasks involved in operating the office systems. Jade has experience in the management of behavioral health agencies and provides excellent customer service.
